Marjorie D. Cooke, 88, of Marietta, died Sunday, January 22, 2012 in Marietta. She was born on January 21, 1924 in Williamstown, WV, to Gasper and Edith Stewart Collins. Marjorie was a 1942 graduate of Williamstown High School. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Hamilton (Gary) of Marietta; son, Thomas Cooke (Melissa) of Colorado Springs, CO; five grandchildren, Sloane Matics (Jeff) of Marietta, Quinn Hamilton of Barlow, Nathaniel Cooke (Kim) of Virginia Beach, VA, Melinda Edwards (Monty) of Colorado Springs, and Benjamin Cooke (Janelle) of Colorado Springs; ten great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Marsha Beardmore. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene McGary Cooke on August 11, 2001, they were married on June 6, 1942. Her parents, three sisters and two brothers also preceded her in death. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with her son, Pastor Thomas Cooke officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery in Williamstown. Family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
