Mark Edward Stokes, 45, of Pataskala, died Monday, June 3, 2013, at his residence. He was born in Marietta on December 12, 1967, to George M. and Brenda O'Shea Stokes. He was a 1986 graduate of Marietta High School and was in management in the restaurant business. Mark is survived by his parents of Marietta, a daughter, Valerie Watson, of Zanesville, two grandchildren, Payton and Piper, and siblings, Ray Stokes (Anne Marie) of Scotland, Bob Stokes (Cindy) of Lexington, KY, Cathy Pullen of Charlotte, NC, Miriam Moore (Randy) of Charlotte, NC, Mike Stokes (friend, Jonna) of Marietta, and Sharon Huff (Brad) of Charlotte, NC and many nieces and nephews. A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at St. Mary Catholic Church. The family requests donations to St. Vincent DePaul Society or the Restoration Fund, both c/o St. Mary Catholic Church, 506 Fourth St., Marietta, Ohio, 45750. The Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home is assisting the family.
