Martha J. Augenstein, 88, died Sunday, April 7, 2013, at Highland Oaks Nursing Facility in McConnelsville, Ohio, after an extended illness. She was born September 26, 1924 in Marietta to Albert F. and Rega Henier Augenstein. She graduated from DeSales Heights in 1939, and in 1943 went to Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters, from which she later withdrew. She graduated from the University of Detroit in 1968 and retired from the State of Florida. She is survived by David and Diana Augenstein of Parkersburg, WV, Vernola Augenstein of Belpre, George Augenstein of Belpre, Mark and Leslie Augenstein of Murphytown, WV, Stormy Augenstein of Devola, Shawn Augenstein of Denver, CO, Renee Boutet, Greg and Janine Anderson and Steve and Mitch Carfano, all of California, Peter Boutet of Wyoming, Bryan and Kathy Weiss of Indiana and Mark and Angela Ginty of Cincinnati. She was preceded in death by her brother, Dan Augenstein, sister, Julia Boutet, and nephew, Michael Augenstein. Friends may call at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. A Vigil Service will be held at 5 p.m. on Wednesday. Funeral Liturgy, with Mass, will be at St. Mary Catholic Church on Thursday, April 11, 2013, at 10:00 a.m., with the Rev. Christopher Foxhaven as celebrant. Burial will be in New St. Mary Cemetery.
