Mary Catherine Brooker

Mary Catherine Brooker, 74, of Lowell, died Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born July 1, 1936 in Petersburg, Illinois to Lawrence and Elizabeth Tibbs Gurnsey. She had worked at Dravo for many years and at Harmar Place. She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and the Catholic Women's Club. Mary is survived by her husband, Raymond Brooker, they were married on June 3, 1961, and by her children, Jeff Brooker (Tamara) of Shoreview, Minnesota, and Diane Needham (Mark) of Plain City, Ohio, and three grandchildren, Sarah and Jill Needham and Rachel Brooker. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Bill Gurnsey and three sisters, Anna Marie Westmoreland, Agnes Offenberger, and Eleanor Craven. Funeral Liturgy, with Mass, will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 24, 2011, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, with the Rev. Timothy Huffman as celebrant. Visitation will be at the Lowell Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. The Rosary will be prayed at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
