Mary Morris Gainer Canfield

Mary M. Gainer Canfield, 81, of Williamstown, KY, died Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at Grant Manor in Williamstown, KY. She was born July 2, 1929 in Marietta to James C. and Ada Martin Morris. She was a 1947 graduate of Marietta High School. Mary was a recent member at The Bridge in Cincinnati, where her grandson is the pastor, and a former member of Grace Baptist Church in Parkersburg. She enjoyed watercolor painting, flower gardening, and loved her pets. Mary was a devoted mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She is survived by two daughters, Diane Gainer of Williamstown, KY and Elaine Magliocca (Gary) of Berry, KY, two grandchildren, Timothy Dunn (Ashley) and Jennifer Dunn all of Cincinnati, two great grandchildren, Noah and Emma Dunn, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Richard Gainer, her second husband, Ray Canfield, a brother, James Morris, and two sisters, Opal Schenkel and Linda Freeland. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 11, 2011, at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with her grandson, Pastor Timothy Dunn officiating. Visitation will also be on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of her service. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
