Mary Margery "Marge" Hogan, 78, of Waterford Road, Marietta, died at 11:20 p.m. on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at Harmar Place. She was born on May 21, 1930 in Lowell, Ohio to Herbert and Catherine Quinn Long. Marge is a 1948 graduate of St. Mary's Catholic High School and a graduate of St. Joseph's Nursing School. She was a Registered Nurse, retiring in 1991 from St. John's Catholic School in Churchtown. Marge was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Catholic Women's Club, Oak Grove Missionary Society, St. Vincent DePaul Society and Franciscan Meals. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed helping people most of all. Her family would like to thank the staff at Harmar Place for their exceptional care. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Hogan, whom she married on October 22, 1957; three children, John Hogan of Marietta, Mary Ann Lenahan (Kevin) of Bulverde, TX, and Mike Hogan (Mary) of Marietta; four grandchildren, Alison and Michelle Lenahan and Alyssa and Alex Hogan; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and four brothers, Charles, Robert, Ralph and Harold Long. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 27, 2009 at St. Mary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Msgr. John Michael Campbell celebrating. Burial will be in New St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Marietta Chapel of Cawely & Peoples Funeral Home, with a Vigil service being held at 3:00 p.m. that afternoon.
