Mary Susan Landers

October 14, 1920 — October 22, 2012

Mary S. Landers, a resident of Midland Meadows Retirement Community, Ona, WV, passed away peacefully Monday, October 22, 2012. She was born October 14, 1920 in Waynesboro, PA to William R. and Mary S. Leisinger Crum. Mary was raised near Hagerstown, MD and then lived for 48 years in Cutler, Ohio with her husband James W. Landers. While in Cutler, she served as postmistress and was very active with St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Vincent, Ohio. Following the death of James in 1988 she lived in Belpre, Ohio; Waverly, Ohio and finally at Midland Meadows. While in Belpre, Mary served as a docent at Blennerhassett Island. Throughout her life, Mary volunteered in many ways helping others. Mary will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and friends. Funeral Liturgy, with Mass will be at 11:00 am on Friday, October 26th, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Little Hocking, OH, with The Rev. Robert Gallagher as celebrant. The family will greet friends for one hour prior to her service at the church. Burial will be at New St. Mary's Cemetery in Marietta. The family requests donations to Hospice of Huntington, WV in lieu of flowers.
