Mary E. "Mae" Lang, 84, of Churchtown, Ohio, died Sunday, June 1, 2014, at The Woman's Home in Marietta. She was born on December 31, 1929, in Washington County, to Howard M. and Ellen M. Schwendeman Jurden. Mae Graduated in 1948 from St. Mary's Catholic School in Marietta. She married Howard William Lang on April 27, 1957. Mae was the secretary at St. John's Central Grade School for many years and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Churchtown, St. Vincent DePaul, Catholic Women's Club, helped deliver Franciscan meals, was an avid reader and loved to play cards. She is survived by six children, Jeffrey Lang (Lorinda) of Churchtown, Sandy Lang (Walt Weil) of Groveport, Ohio, Mark Lang (Edward) of Pittsburgh, PA, Tony Lang (Christy ) of Churchtown, Linda Jones of Grove City, Ohio and Lorraine Clarida (Bruce) of Churchtown, nine grandchildren, Samantha Franchino, Jessica Henke, Bruce, Whitney, T.J., Beth, and Matthew Lang, and Austin and Bailee Clarida, nine great-grandchildren, Lillian, Alexis, Tyson, Alexander, Luke, Joseph, Abigail, Weston and Alijah, three sisters, Gladys Malone of Williamstown, WV, Patty Dickson of Marietta and Priscilla Casto (Jack) of Cincinnati, Ohio, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband on February 21, 2000, two sisters, Leona Nahass and Barbara Baker, one brother, Howard "Bud" Jurden, Jr., and a son-in-law, Marvin Jones. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 6, 2014 at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Churchtown, with Fathers Reischman, Klinger and Kawa concelebrating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Thursday at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with a Vigil service at 2 p.m. and a Rosary at 8 p.m. being held.
