Mary P. Ward Sayre McIntire, 81, of Marietta, died Saturday, August 23, 2014 in Marietta. She was born on June 20, 1933 in Marietta, to H. Floyd and Ruth Steen Stoehr. Mary was a 1979 graduate of Marietta College, with a BA in Education. She taught for many years at Marietta Junior High and Warren, Washington and Lawrence Elementary Schools. She is survived by three children, Debbie Ward Grasley (Bob) of St. Paul, Minnesota, Wendy Ward Stewart (Terry) of Mobile, Alabama and Kent Ward of Cincinnati, Ohio, step children, John and Nate McIntire, both of Marietta, four grandchildren, Mandy Stewart Jurisson, Michael and Stephen Grasley and Ryan Stewart, four great grandchildren, Anabelle, Calli, Miranda and Brooklyn, and sister Joan Taber of Marietta. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, John Paul Grasley. Her family will be greeting friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home. There will be no service.
