Mary Margaret Nelson

April 23, 1921 — July 11, 2012

Mary Margaret Nelson, 91, Woodruff Road, Vincent, died Wednesday evening, July 11, 2012, in Marietta. Born April 23, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Bertha Wilson Robinson. A graduate of Belpre High School in 1939, she had worked at the Ramada Inn until her retirement in 1986. Mary enjoyed fishing, gardening, watching John Wayne movies and her grandkids...especially her granddaughters' softball games. She is survived by two sons, Rocky (Bonita) Nelson, and Ronald Nelson, all of Vincent; four grandchildren, Tessa Nelson, Nickie (Joe) White, Myranda Nelson and Becky Tarter; three great-grandchildren, Johnathon Blair, Brady Moore and Zachary Tarter; a sister, Iona Thorn, of Pasadena, MD; a brother, Pete Robinson, of Newton Falls; and several nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 pm Sunday, July 15, 2012, at the Barlow Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home. Burial will be in Woodruff Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Saturday, at the funeral home in Barlow. It is suggested that memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association, 1218 Market Street, Parkersburg, WV 26101.
