Mary Jo Rippeto

Mary Jo Adams Rippeto, 81, Marietta, died Monday, November 30, 2015 in Marietta. Born January 1, 1934 in Waterford, she was a daughter of the late William E. and Opal Marie Ritchie Stewart, Sr. She had worked 20 years as a secretary for Marietta Concrete Company and Marietta City Schools. She also had been a deputy clerk for the Washington County Common Pleas Court. Mary Jo has been a member of the Putnam Congregational Church for the last 71 years. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey W. Adams and grandson, Jesse William Adams, both of Athens; a sister, Judith Ann Deering (James), of Cornelius, NC, and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are step-children Brian Keith Rippeto (Beth), of Belpre, Kevin Thomas Rippeto, of Vienna, WV, and Charla Gay Taggart, of Orrville. She was preceded in death by her ?rst husband, William Charles Adams, and her second husband, Thomas Harrison Rippeto, Jr. Also preceded in death by a son, David Glenn Adams, a brother, Bill Stewart, Jr., and a sister, Bonita Williams. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2015, at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with Patricia Peoples officiating. Burial of ashes will be in Putnam Cemetery. Family will greet friends for two hours prior to service on Thursday at the funeral home.
