Mary Louise Schwendeman, 67, Fleming, Ohio, died Friday, December 4, 2015 in Marietta. Born October 16, 1948 in Marietta, she was a daughter of the late Paul Joseph Schwendeman and Rita Arnold Schwendeman. She was a 1966 graduate of Waterford High School, where she was class salutatorian. Mary retired in 2007 from the Bureau of The Public Debt, following 42 years of service. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Her hobbies included gardening and many crafts. Surviving with her mother, of Fleming, are sisters Margaret (Mike) Wolf, Edith (Mike) Parsons; brother Robert (Sherrie) Schwendeman; nieces Melissa (Nathan) Cox, Melinda (Josh) Kegley, Kate (Billy) Pence, Lisa Parsons; nephews Michael (April) Schwendeman, Patrick Parsons; great-nieces Megan, Makayla and Sara Schwendeman, Jillian and Nevaeh Kegley; and great-nephews Trevor Cox and Jacob Schwendeman. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be 10:00 am Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with the Rev. Virgil Reischman celebrating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mary's family will greet friends at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Tuesday, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, where a Vigil service will be held at 2:00 pm. It is suggested that donations may be directed to Marietta Home Health and Hospice.
