Mary "Millie" Mildred Snyder, 85, died Tuesday, April 10, 2012, in Marietta. Born November 11, 1926 in Catlettsburg, KY, she was the youngest daughter of the late Curtis and Nora Ross White. After graduating from Catlettsburg High School and attending the University of Louisville, Millie married Walter Cecil "Moke" Snyder on July 3, 1947. In Marietta, Millie worked as a nurse's aide and attended the Norwood United Methodist Church. She loved all her dogs and cats dearly. She often sang along to her Diana Krall songs, and was quick to share her humor and kindness with all. She is survived by two daughters-Joan Mettler (Paul) of Atlantic Beach, FL and Leigh Evans (J. Lowell) of Columbus, OH-and three grandchildren: Lauren Lydic of Toronto, Canada; Matthew Evans of Cincinnati; and Zachary Mettler of Wilmington, DE. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Millie was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, who passed on July 7, 1997, and by eight brothers and sisters. The Snyder family wishes to express sincere appreciation to Neighbors and friends for the love, kindness and care they have shown to Millie and her daughters over the years, especially during these last few months. The family has valued the extra measure of care extended by the staff of Quality of Life and the O'Neill Senior Center. Funeral services will be 10:00am Saturday, April 14, 2012, at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with the Rev. Stacy Evans officiating. Burial will be in Catlettsburg Cemetery at 3:00 PM, Saturday. The family will greet friends on Friday, from 6-8 PM.
