Maureen Jane Bryant, 60, of Heath, Ohio, and formerly of Marietta, died Thursday, December 17, 2015, at Heath Nursing Care Center, following her brief battle with cancer. She was born November 11, 1955 in Marietta to William J. and Eileen Fogle Gavin. She had worked for the U.S. Government in the trademark/patent office and had also been a cashier at Kroger. Before her move to Heath, she had attended St. Mary's Catholic Church. Through the years Maureen has touched so many lives, which was a special gift she had. Maureen is survived by her son, James Bryant III; grandchildren, James Joseph and Kiah,; her sister, Kathleen (Mike) Tewkesbury and many nieces and nephews, including Bill and Jon Tewkesbury and Elisha (Eric) Tornes. She was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers, Ritt Dunham, Patrick Gavin and Tommy Gavin. Funeral services will be held at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be two hours prior to her service. Burial will be in New St. Mary's Cemetery. Donations to a hospice group of your choice. The family wiould like to thank the Heath Nursing Care for their outstanding care of Maureen.
