Millicent K. "Mickie" Gale, 82 of Port St. Lucie, Fl, died on September 20, 2009 after an extended illness. She was born February 1, 1927 to Lorraine & Ervin Kuhlmann in Hamilton, Ohio. She was a 1948 graduate of Good Samaritan School of Nursing in Cincinnati, where she practiced obstetrical nursing for several years. She married Larrey B Gale, MD & they resided in Newport, Ohio. In later years, she moved to Marietta, where she was a member of the St Mary's Catholic Church. Mrs. Gale enjoyed raising her family, supporting activities with them such as school programs, music, 4-H, Little League, & home room mother. A devout Catholic, Mrs. Gale also made several pilgrimages to Fatima, Portugal with her niece. In 1998, she moved with her daughter to Florida, where she lived until her death. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Margaret "Margie" also of Port St Lucie, and son, Michael, of Tampa; two grandsons, Martin of Tampa & Christian of Orlando, & her pet dog, Joey. She has many nieces & nephews in Newport, Cincinnati, Dayton, & California. Mrs. Gale was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Richard Kuhlmann of Hamilton, and her sister Marjorie Delaney of Dayton. According to Mrs. Gale's wishes, she will be cremated & buried in the St Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Services will be held in Marietta at the convenience of the family. . In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial donations be made to the American Lung Association, or your local animal rescue organization. Local arrangements are being handled by the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home.
