Minnie M. Kahrig Walters, 87, of Marietta, died Saturday, April 24, 2010, at Heartland of Marietta. She was born March 7, 1923 in Lewisville to Phillip and Louise Pfalzgraph Kahrig. Minnie had been a seamstress, working in several fabric shops. Her last eleven years of employment had been for Weiser and Cawley, working in Custom Drapes. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara McFarland (Delbert) of Marietta; son, David A. Walters (Rhonda) of Lancaster; four grandchildren, Lia Williams (Aaron) of Overland Park, KS, Jay McFarland (Beth Haag) of Denver, CO, Josh Walters of Carroll, OH, and Aaron Walters of Canal Winchester, OH; three great grandchildren, Bryce Walters and Kaitlin and Addison Williams; a brother, Homer Kahrig of Barnesville, OH, and several nieces and nephews. Minnie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert V. Walters, five brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with Pastor David Hubbard officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m., and for one hour prior to the services on Thursday. Entombment will be in East Lawn Mausoleum. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
