Nancy Seyler

July 17, 1939 — June 8, 2014

Nancy L. Seyler, 74, of Alta Street, Marietta, Ohio, died Sunday, June 8, 2014, at Marietta Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Born July 17, 1939 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Russell L. and Evelyn L. Mellenthine MacVittie.
As a young woman, Nancy worked at Union Carbide in Marietta where she met and later married her late husband, Robert Seyler, Jr.

Nancy was a homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, sister-in-law and aunt.
She spent countless hours playing cards and mahjong with her friends. Until recently, she was an avid bowler, loved to travel to out-of-town bowling tournaments and enjoyed exercise class at the O'Neill Center. Nancy was a member of the Marietta Mad Hatters and had dinner every month with her high school classmates. Lots of people were recipients of Nancy's homemade stamped greeting cards. She loved to read and create beautiful cross-stitch masterpieces for family and friends.
Nancy is survived by her three daughters, Cindy Thrasher (Bobby), Shari Brown (Tony), and Amy Morgan (David), all of Marietta. She cherished her grandchildren, Samantha Alden (Scott), Stephanie Boyer (Chad), and Haylee and Justin Morgan and was super proud of their accomplishments. The newest loves of her life were her great grandchildren Abby Jo and Eric Seyler Alden. Nancy is also survived by two sisters, Mary Ann Rushton of Boardman, OH and Janet Mondor of Simpsonville, SC.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with Craig Wood officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Nancy's family will greet friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-8 pm.
