Nancy Truesdell

Nancy Scholl Truesdell, 73, of Timberline Drive, Marietta, Ohio, passed away Sunday, June 27 in Marietta. She was a long-time resident of Bremen, Ohio and then moved to Glenwood Retirement Community of Marietta in 2006. She was born in Chillicothe, Ohio on October 7, 1936 to Dr. H. Jay and Wilda Hubbard Scholl, and was a graduate of Chillicothe High School. Nancy attended Stephens college, and later graduated from The Ohio State University in 1958. After college, she became a French and English teacher with Zane Trace and Centralia High Schools, and then spent the majority of her career as an English teacher at Fairfield Union Junior High School. In her 30 years as an educator, Nancy was respected and well-liked by peers and students alike. She was active in all the communities in which she lived, and was a member of the Bremen United Methodist Church. She loved reading, music, spending time with family and friends, and supporting the Ohio State Buckeyes. She is survived by two sons, Jay Truesdell (Lennea) of Bremen, Ohio and Craig Truesdell (Jennifer) of Akron, Ohio; one daughter, Elizabeth Richardson (Ben) of Marietta, Ohio; five grandchildren, Nickalaus, Lauren, Taylor, and Zane Truesdell, and Henry Scholl Richardson; and one sister, Debby Adams (Larry) of Cincinnati, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 PM on Sunday, July 11 at Bremen United Methodist Church, 205 Walnut Street, with Pastor Debbie Nance officiating. Family will greet friends from noon until time of services on Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice, or to The Fairfield County District Library - Bremen/Rushcreek Branch, Attn: Brenda Johnson, 200 School St. Bremen, Ohio 43107. If contributing by check, make payable to Fairfield County District Library and designate: in memory of Nancy Truesdell. The Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home along with Morgan Funeral Home of Bremen are assisting the family with her arrangements.
