Nedra June Hardman Schaad, 79, of Belpre, Ohio and formerly of Spencer, WV, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014, at Marietta Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness, with family by her side. She was born May 10, 1935 in Spencer, WV to James Floyd and Eula Gandee Hardman. June was a gifted athlete and won many awards. She loved her pets, music and singing and had sung at multiple weddings and was a member of the WV All State Girls Choir. Before becoming a homemaker, she worked as office manager for Donald Pritt, Podiatrist, then for Western District Guidance Center which is now Westbrook Health Services, as well as doing paralegal work for many lawyers. She had attended the Baptist and Presbyterian churches in Spencer and was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Porterfield. June loved her family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her, including her husband, David D. Schaad, son, James T. Schaad and wife, Anne-Claire, of Parkersburg, WV, two brothers, Von Hardman and wife, Karen, of Santee, SC and Lowell "Huck" Hardman of Spencer, one sister, Mona Lou Hardman of Spencer, many nieces and nephews and mother in law, Barbara Schaad of Cutler. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, James N. Hardman, and father in law, Donald Schaad. Funeral Liturgy, with Mass, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 19, 2014, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Porterfield, with the Rev. Robert Gallagher as celebrant. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Barlow Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Little Hocking.
