Opal Bertram

July 20, 1917 — January 6, 2013

Opal Bertram, 95, of Marietta, died Sunday, January 6, 2013 at her residence. She was born to Allie and Flossie Holland Beardmore on July 20, 1917 in Bethel Township, Monroe County, Ohio. Opal was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul, brothers, Clarence and Ernest Beardmore, sister, Gladys Theobald, niece, Karen Beardmore, and son, Paul Gates Bertram. Opal helped her husband for many years build a successful real estate business now called The Bertram Trust. She loved her family above all else. She leaves her daughter, Sue Bertram Ernst, daughter-in-law, Jan Bertram, grandchildren, Paul Bertram III, Seth Bertram, Eric Ernst, Todd Ernst, nine great grandchildren, nieces, Vivian Kemp and Christine Peyton, and nephew, Jeff Beardmore. She will be missed by many who have benefited from her love and generosity. The family wishes to thank her loyal and devoted caregivers for many years of care. We could not have done it without them. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The First Congregational Church, 318 Front Street, Marietta, Ohio 45750. A memorial service will be announced at a later time.
