Opal Yvonne Dye, 86, of Marietta, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at Muskingum Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation in Beverly. She was born November 6, 1926 in Whipple to Daniel and Gladys Heslop Epler. Opal was well known in the area for her seamstress skills and alteration work. She was a member of the Harmar Hill Church of Christ. Opal is survived by three sons, Gerry. L (Kathy) of Belpre, Frederick W. (Sheila) of Marietta, Larry D. (Laura) of Marietta, daughter, Carol Bailey (Raymond)of Fleming, 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, sister, Twila Doak of Marietta and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Dye, on May 2, 2003. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home. Friends may call on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
