Patricia Ann Long, 81, of Marietta, died Monday, September 19, 2016, at Marietta Center. She was born July 2, 1935 in Philo, Ohio to James Robert and Nellie Maude Lowe Jackson. She was a 1953 graduate of Salem Liberty High School. Patricia loved watching her birds from the back porch and enjoyed her flowers. She also loved her constant companions, Maggie and Tia. She is survived by her two daughters, Kathy Sells (Bret) of Marietta and Teresa Parker (Lessel) of Virginia Beach, VA; four grandchildren, Angie Dixon (Allen) of Washington, NC, Joshua Arnold of Virginia Beach, Ashley Sells of Little Hocking and Mason Riley of Marietta; two great grandchildren, Alexia Arnold and Desirae Sells; four siblings, Elaine Thomas (John) of Marietta, Judy Rader (Ron) of Little Hocking, Jim Jackson (Sandra) of Lowell and Lynn Peters of Williamstown, WV. Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Lawrence Long on July 12, 2001 and a sister, Shirley Long. The family would like to say thank you to Strecker Cancer Center, Marietta Home Nursing and Hospice and Marietta Center for the care given Patricia. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2016, at the Lowell Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tom Hendershot officiating. Visitation on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Lowell. Donations may be made to the Strecker Cancer Center.
