Penny Lou Nicholson, 66, of Marietta, Ohio, died Sunday, May 21, 2017, at her home. She was born on November 18, 1950, in Marietta, to the late Helen Decker and Neil Green.
Penny was a 1968 graduate of Marietta High School, and received her Associates Degree in Business Management from Washington State Community College. She was a beautician in Oklahoma before moving back to this area, and then sold insurance for Schwendeman's Agency and AFLAC for many years. Penny loved spending time with family.
She is survived by her husband, Mike Nicholson, whom she married on December 30, 1988; six children, Amy Siders (Mike) of Marietta, Steven Wertz (Wendy) of Rochester, NY, Michele McKinney of Marietta, Ryan Nicholson (Andrea) of Summerville, NC, Justin Nicholson (Rose) of Whipple, Ohio, and Casey Nicholson (Jennifer) of Lockhaven, PA; 16 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one sister, Pam Hess of Marietta; one brother, John Green of St. Cloud, MI; and many nieces and nephews.
Abiding with her wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no services. A private family viewing will be held.
