Phyllis Wilson Heiss, 73, of Marietta died Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at her home. She was born April 26, 1941 in Salem, WV to Merle and Maysel Heilman Pierce. She was a 1960 graduate of Salem High School. Phyllis had been employed at the museum at Fenton Art Glass for ten years. She was a member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed traveling and visiting the beach. Phyllis is survived by her husband, Robert G. Heiss, daughters, Teresa Pickens (Jeff Harper) of Coolville and Jodie Carl (Bob McIntyre) of Belpre and their father, John G. Wilson (Jo Ann) of Williamstown; three step daughters, Teresa Huck (Pat) of Marietta, Cindy Bosner of Marietta and Sherri Pottmeyer (Erin) of Fleming; stepson, Kevin Heiss (Dianne) of Lawton, Iowa; grandchildren, Heather Torres (Juan), Stephen Wilson (Amy), John Wilson (Katrina), Justin Wilson (Sheree), Dylan and Kylee Carl; step grandchildren, Keith Huck (Amy), Shawn Huck (Jen), Dustin and Brent Huck, Ted and Tiffany Martin, Kay Munell, Taylor, Kaitlin and Travis Pottmeyer, Ethan, Nicholas, Braden and Katie Heiss; five great grandchildren, three step great grandchildren, two sisters, Maida Vawter (Bill) of Indiana, Jean Jones (Rodney) of Clarksburg, WV and a brother, William Pierce, of Indiana. She was preceded in death by a son, John Gary Wilson II and a step son, Robert "Bobbie" Heiss, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 31, 2015, at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with Preacher Teddy Tackett officiating.
