Phyllis Trimble Hutchinson Roush

Phyllis Trimble Hutchinson Roush, 92, of Marietta, died Sunday, January 23, 2011, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born May 3, 1918 in Preston, Oklahoma to Albert and Vesta Irwin Hutchinson. She was a hard worker and at the age of 71, retired as head cook for the Senior Citizens Center in Marietta. She loved playing bingo and spending time with her special friends. She had been a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ. She had taught Sunday School at the First Congregational Church in Cornerville in her teen years. Phyllis is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Jerry) Boyce of Marietta and Patricia (Art) McIntyre of Coolville, daughter in law, Patti Ann Bennett Roush, six grandchildren, Gary Warne, Michele Boyce, Mark Warne, John McIntyre, Sean T. Taylor and Justin T. Roush, and three great grandchildren, Travis, John, and Kati McIntyre. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Thomas Roush in 1959, a son, Carl Thomas Roush, Jr. Phyllis was the last surviving child of Albert and Vesta Hutchinson's children, Graydon, Bruce and Sarah Hutchinson, Alice Moore and Betty Dent. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Sunday, February 13, 2011. The family will greet friends for one half hour prior to the service, as well as immediately following at a reception to be held at the funeral home. She will be cremated and her ashes will be buried at a later date at Valley Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley, P.O. Box 5, Marietta, OH 45750.
