Rachel Leopold, 28, of Marietta, died Sunday evening, May 6, 2012, from natural causes. She was born September 27, 1983 in Marietta and graduated from Marietta High School in 2002. She was a certified hand engraver from Gem City College in Quincy, IL and a staff supervisor at the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley. She was a fiercely loyal friend who loved her family and consistently put others before herself. Rachel loved to laugh and had a bright, infectious smile. She was a talented pianist who enjoyed movies, music, art, cooking, and animals. Rachel will be remembered for her quick wit and tender heart. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Lazarus Christopher. Rachel is survived by her longtime companion and life's love, Barry Boice, and their beloved pets, General and Lux. She is also survived by her parents, Paulette and Kenneth, and stepmom, Diana; siblings, Gilbert and Jessica, brother in law, Ricky and nephews, Bryce and Gabriel. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with The Rev. Roland Schwendeman officiating.
