Ralph Edward "Ed" McBride, 71, of Marietta, died Monday, August 25, 2014, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born April 7, 1943 in Washington County, Ohio to Robert and Martha Mattern McBride. He was a 1961 graduate of Marietta High School and had served with the U. S. Marines. Ed had retired from Shell Chemical. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and traveling, especially with his grandson, Colton. Ed is survived by his wife, Peggy Wagner McBride, a son, Kraig McBride (Jamie), and grandson, Colton, of Williamstown, W.V. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Brian and Chris, and a brother, Gary. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 29, 2014, at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with Robert Alfred officiating. Friends may call on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Valley Cemetery, with honors by the Marine Color Guard. Donations to Strecker Cancer Center.
