Ralph Edward Wilson, 88, of Parkersburg, WV and formerly of Lowell, Ohio, died Wednesday, January 14, 2015. He was born August 3, 1926 in Beverly to John William and Goldie Wallace Wilson. Ralph was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a lifetime member of the Lowell American Legion, Post #750. He had been employed by Marietta Concrete and First Colony Corp. Ralph is survived by two sons, Carl (Robbin) of Dearborn, Missouri and Clifton (Cissy) of Columbus, Mississippi, four grandchildren, Mary Butler (Craig) of Kingsmill, Ohio, John Wilson (Valesha) of Lathrop, Missouri, Tori Sayre (J.R.) of Columbus, Mississippi and Tod Wilson of Caldwell, twelve great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, his longtime companion of 25 years, Sue Mackey of Parkersburg, two sisters, June Wise of Glencoe, Alabama and Jean Lighthizer of Zanesville, and many nieces and nephews. Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Lucy Schwendeman Wilson in 1987, an infant daughter, Mary Kathleen Wilson, three sisters and one brother. Military graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery in Lowell. Donations may be made to St. Jude Foundation.
