Raymond Paul Waterman

Raymond Paul Waterman, 68, of Marietta, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024. He was born on Wednesday, June 15, 1955 in Ashland, Ohio to the late David Ernest Waterman III and Wilma Mae Waterman.

Ray graduated from Marietta High School in 1974. He dedicated over thirty years of service to Marietta Memorial Hospital beginning as a licensed boiler operator and retired as a senior mechanic in the maintenance department. He was a member of several organizations including the Knights of Columbus, #4617, Masonic Lodge Harmar #390, and the American Legion Post #64. Ray enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and taking them on golf cart rides. He was well-known for his famous fish fries.

He was a devoted husband to Terese Ann Waterman, whom he married on August 4, 1979. Ray was a loving father to his children, Philip (Melinda) Waterman, Joe Waterman (Colleen), and Christina (Eric) Schaad. He was a loving grandfather to Calli, Ava, Maci, Josi, Sophia, Easton, and Lucas. Ray is also survived by his siblings, David Waterman IV, Dan (Brenda) Waterman, Charlotte Parks (Al), Carol Hart, Becky Clift, Melissa (Mark) Wingate, as well as his sister-in-law Jeanie Waterman and mother-in-law Anna Mallamaci. He will be greatly missed by several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Roger Waterman, and father-in-law Paul B. Mallamaci.

A funeral service will be held at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Thursday, May 30 at 11:00 am, officiated by Rev. John Michael Campbell, with an hour of visitation preceding the service. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 29 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, and from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with a Vigil Service at 8:00 pm. Graveside service will be at New St. Mary's Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, 506 Fourth Street, Marietta, Ohio 45750 in Ray's memory.
