Regis Harold Long

September 27, 1928 — February 1, 2013

Regis Harold Long, 84, Masonic Park Road, Marietta, died Friday evening, Feb. 1,
2013, at his home. Born Sept. 27, 1928, in Lowell, he was a son of the late Norman
and Clara Rauch Long.
Regis was an Army veteran of the Korean War, having been awarded the Purple Heart.
He had worked at AEP Ohio Power in Beverly as a supervisor, retiring in 1993. He was
a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Regis enjoyed all social events and especially
"Music on the Levee". He also enjoyed time spent playing with his dog, "Oscar".
He is survived by a daughter, Mary Marshall (Ron), of Marietta; a grandson, Michael
Marshall (Vicky), of Lowell; three brothers, Gerald (Monica), of Worthington, Raymond,
of Little Hocking, and Dale (Adele), of Marietta; and three sisters, Esther Flowers, of
Canal Winchester, Ruth Rhoades, of Stockport and Alice Long, of Reynoldsburg. He
was preceded in death by his wife, Myrna Josephine Binegar Long, on January 28,
2007. They had been married on May 22, 1954. He also was preceded in death by a
brother, Bernard Long.
Funeral Liturgy, with Mass, will be 10:00 am Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at St. Mary
Catholic Church with The Rev. Monsignor John Michael Campbell as celebrant.
Entombment will be at East Lawn Mausoleum, with Full Military Rites observed. The
family will greet friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Tuesday, at the Marietta Chapel of
Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, where a Vigil service will be held at 3:00 pm.
