Rex Brooks Jones, 80, of Coolville, died Monday, August 10, 2009, in Marietta. He was born May 17, 1929 in Marietta to Everett C. and Delsie Drake Jones. He had been employed by Merrill Brothers Trucking in Marietta. He was a member of Carthage Community Church in Guysville. Rex enjoyed being a mechanic in his spare time. He is survived by his wife, Violet Mollohan; daughter, Freda Losey (Gary) of Marietta; son, Robert Jones of Marietta; two stepdaughters, Margaret Norton (Mark) of Corydon, IN and Josie Cremeans (Steve) of Coolville; three stepsons, Bobby Murphy of Coolville, Bill Murphy (Cathy) of Ravenswood, WV and Jerry Murphy (Beverly) of Coolville; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter and his brother, Bill Jones of Warren, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a son, Rex, a daughter, Dorothy Ann, a grandson and two brothers. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Tunnel Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday morning from 9 until 10:30 at Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, 408 Front St., Marietta.
