Richard K. "Dick" Border, 76, Beverly, OH, died Friday afternoon, March 2, 2012, at Heartland of Marietta. Born July 19, 1935, at Keithtown, OH, he was the son of the late Kermit and Mildred Heiss Border. Dick had been a self employed farmer and truck driver. He loved his horses and had hauled milk for many years. He also had served as a township trustee for sixteen years for Center Township. Dick is survived by three children, Brian Border (Ann), of Stockport, Robin Hawkins (Forrest), of Beverly, and Gina Bartmess (Pat), of Beverly. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren, including Jessica Offenberger and Ashley Matheny (Chris), who were raised by their grandfather, thirteen great-grandchildren, one brother, Larry Border, of Dungannon, and many nieces and nephews. He was married August 3, 1959, to Jane Ann Porter, who preceded him in death June 22, 2011. He was also pre-deceased by two sons, Mike and Roger Border, granddaughter Tina McLean, two sisters, Ruth Clark and Ann Lambright, and a brother, Wayne Border. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at the Lowell Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with Pastor Rick Headley officiating. Burial will be in Beverly Cemetery. His family will greet friends at the funeral home on Monday, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
