Richard Clyde Stauch

February 25, 1932 — June 16, 2019

Richard Clyde Stauch, 87, of Marietta passed away Sunday, June 16, 2019. He was born February 25, 1932 to the late Freeman Clyde and Juanita Mae Miller Stauch.

He was a graduate of Salem-Liberty High School in 1950. Richard served in the Army from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean War as a tank commander. He retired from G. E. Plastics (Borg Warner) as a supervisor in 1991. He was a member of First Congregational Church since 1966, a life member of American Legion Post #64, and VFW Post #5108. Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, reading, bowling, square dancing, golfing, hiking and traveling in his motorhome.

Richard is survived by his wife, Dorothy Smith Stauch, whom he married February 25, 1956; three daughters, Tina Pratt (Jeff) of Kingwood, TX, Treva Smittle (John) of Davisville, WV, Teresa Games (Larry) of Vienna, WV; four grandchildren, Wesley Alan Pratt of Austin, TX, Lance Alan Pratt of Kerrville, TX, Brice Kirby Games of State College, PA, Lauren Elizabeth Games of Silver Spring, MD, one brother, Robert Lee Stauch of Vincent, one sister, Donna Mae Bailey of Lowell, and sister in law Dorothy Becker Smith of Marietta.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers in law, James Bailey, Paul Smith, Robert Smith and William Smith; sisters in law, Joyce Stauch, Marcella Scott and Joan Rech, two nephews, Timothy and Jeffrey Bailey, and a niece Barbara Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the First Congregational Church with the Rev. Linda Steelman officiating. Entombment will follow in East Lawn Mausoleum, where full military rights will be observed. The family will greet friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, and at the Church one hour prior to services. Memorial donations may be made to First Congregation Church, 318 Front Street or the Warren VFD, 17305 St. Rt. 550, both in Marietta, OH 45750 or to Alzheimer's Society, 1218 Market Street, Parkersburg, WV 26101.
