Robert "Bob" Allen Henthorne departed this life on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the age of 87. He was born on September 29, 1937, in Marietta, Ohio to Harold Emerson Henthorne and Virginia Mae Roush Henthorne.
A lifelong resident of Marietta, Bob was a graduate of Marietta High School, Class of 1955. He went on to become a successful business owner, founding and operating the Henthorne Lawn & Garden Center with his father. He lived a life full of love, hard work, adventure, and dedication to his family and community.
Bob was a member of the Masonic Harmar Lodge No. 390 and volunteered with the Warren Volunteer Fire Department. His adventurous spirit led him to hike the Appalachian Trail, canoe local waterways, and participate in corn roasting at local fairs. Bob was also known for his musical talent, particularly his skillful finger-picking style on the guitar. After retiring, he enjoyed driving a semi-truck, exploring the open road. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Barbara Ann Davis Henthorne, whom he married on July 14, 1957. Together, they built a loving family, including their two children, Lisa Ross (Steve) and Robert "Bob" Henthorne (Brenda). Bob was a proud grandfather to Michael Henthorne (Margaret), Adam Anderson (Kristy Dearth), Elizabeth Anderson (Mike Brannon), Amy McKenzie (Adam), and Shane Henthorne (Loren). His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Nick Henthorne (Kayla), Tyler Henthorne, Caleb Anderson, Hailey Anderson, Aubrey McKenzie, Ashlyn McKenzie, and Miles Henthorne, as well as his great-great-grandchildren, Oakley and Avery Henthorne.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
A private graveside service will be held at Tunnel Cemetery, where Bob will be laid to rest in the presence of his closest family members.
