Robert Homer Mason

Robert Homer Mason, 90, of Marietta, Ohio, died on Sunday, June 3, 2012. He was born May 14, 1922 in Buffalo, WV to James and Isabel Bailey Mason. His parents preceded him in death, as did his wife of 44 years, Clella Edith Anderson Mason, brothers, Charles, Carl, Woodrow and sisters, Marie Null and Betty Mason. He is survived by his companion of 20 years, Mary G. Welch and daughters, Michele Garrettson and Monique Maxson, son, K.L. "Cuddy" Thomas and wife, Mary, grandchildren, David Thomas, Greg and Carol Thomas, Randy and Cindy Thomas Simpson, Rick Thomas and ten great grandchildren. Robert was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having received the Silver Star and a Purple Heart. There will be no visitation and a private graveside will be held at a later date. The Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home is assisting the family with the cremation arrangements.
