Robert R. "Bob" McVicar, 70 of Vincent, passed away at Marietta Memorial Hospital, with his family by his side, on Friday, September 13, 2013 at 1:50 p.m. He was born January 26, 1943 to Russell and Lucille Wells McVicar in Vincent. He attended Vincent High School and graduated from Warren High School in 1961. Bob served in the U.S. Air Force from 1962 to 1966. He worked for 3M, Imation and DecisionOne for over 35 years. He was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed hunting and being outdoors and was a member of the NRA. Bob is survived by one daughter, Autumn McVicar of Belpre, two sons, Derek of Vincent and Michael of Florida, and a sister, Karen Mills (Bill). He was preceded in death by his parents, several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at the Barlow Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with Dr. Lloyd Dennis officiating. There will also be full military honors at the funeral home. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Donations may be made to the Bartlett Farmers Bank for Derek and Autumn's educations.
