Robert Leo Peters, 65, of Lowell, Ohio, died at 7:51 a.m. on Wednesday, August 18, 2010, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
He was born December 18, 1944, in Watertown, Ohio to Francis E. and Hilda M. Arnold Peters.
Bob graduated from Waterford High School in 1962. He served in the United States Air Force for four years, during Vietnam. He retired in December of 2005 from American Electric Power Muskingum River Plant. Bob was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and the American Legion Post #750, both in Lowell.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn E. Huck Peters, whom he married on August 23, 1969; his daughter, Heather M. Peters, of the home; his sister, Joanne Stout (Charles) of Parkersburg; his brother, Ron Peters (Sharon) of Huber Heights, Ohio; two special aunts, Dorothy Wendt, of Beverly, and Mildred Strain, of Parkersburg; and two brothers in law, Clair A. Huck and Roger J. Huck (Kenna), both of Lowell.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James F. Peters.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2010, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. Burial with full military honors will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Lowell Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with a rosary being prayed at 8:00 p.m.
