Robert Dee Stacy, 88, of Marietta, died Monday, June18, 2012, at Heartland of Marietta. He was born April 6, 1924 in Washington County, Ohio to Dewey Dee and Edythe Gertrude Weinstock Stacy. Mr. Stacy was a graduate of Marietta High School and in 1948 received a degree in Agriculture from The Ohio State University. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving from 1943 to 1945. He had worked in Blissfield, Michigan for the FMC Corporation and Haviland Chemical until his retirement in 1979, moving back to Marietta in 1984. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, had been a member of the Oak Grove VFD, member of Phi Kappa Tau, the Kiwanis in Michigan and Ohio, The Ohio State Horticulture Society, Washington County Genealogical Society, Washington County Historical Society and the National Fenton Glass Society. Mr. Stacy is survived by two daughters, Susan Davison (Loring) and Shirley Holzapfel (Paul), son, James Stacy (Susan), all of Marietta, four grandchildren, Christy Holzapfel (Alex), Molly Jones (Kenny), Amy Mendenhall (Scott), and Robert Davison (Stephanie), seven great grandchildren, Corbin, Zakery, McKenzie, Emily, Lauren, Abbey and Emma, two brothers, Edward Stacy(Mary) and David Stacy (Jean), three sisters, Betty Carr (Max), Iris McClure (James) and Ruth Dick (James), many nieces and nephews, his caregiver, Tim Simpson, and his cat, Chirper. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Jean Blue Stacy, on January 14, 2009, they had been married on January 13, 1946. Funeral services will be held at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Friday, June 22, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., with the Pastor Rick Hastings officiating. Friends may call on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rainbow Cemetery, with full military honors.
