Robert Joseph Weeks

Robert Joseph Weeks, 89, of Easton, PA, died Friday, May 20, 2016 in New Jersey. He is the widower of Betty Lucille Reynolds Weeks, a Marietta native. Bob was born in Jersey City, NJ on July 17, 1926 to Charles and Mary McNeil Weeks. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving from February 11, 1944 to May 3, 1946, and fought in the Pacific Island Campaign, including the liberation of the Philippines, the invasion of Okinawa, and the Japanese surrender. He had worked for Westinghouse Elevator Corp. Bob is survived by three sons, Robert, of Manhattan, NY, Brian (Diane), of Metuchen, NJ and Kevin (Lisa, of Piscataway, NJ; grandchildren, Evan, Fiona, Liam and Dawn; sisters in law, Virginia Schwendeman, of Beverly and Mary Lou (Bill) Hinton, of Lowell and many nieces and nephews. His wife, Betty, preceded him in death on January 2, 2015. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Albert, Charles, Lee, James, Patrick, Edward, and Joseph. Funeral services will be held at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Thursday, June 2, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Msgr. John Michael Campbell officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery. Donations may be made to the D.A.V. and the Wounded Warrior Project.
