Roberta Garnet Kesterson, 93, formerly of Belpre, died Friday, June 5, 2009, at Marietta Center. She was born September 21, 1915 to Arthur E. and Pearl Dowler. She had worked at Viscose in Parkersburg, had farmed for many years, and then was employed by Enlows Bakery in Belpre. She enjoyed gardening. Roberta is survived by five sons, Gary (Alice) of Fleming, Harold (Sue) of Vincent, John of Belpre, Roger (Jeanette) of Fleming and Terry of Belpre; a daughter, Karen Roberts of Belpre; eleven grandchildren and many great grandchildren; three sisters, Opal Deem of Parkersburg, WV, Betty Dowler of Belpre and Vera Henry (R.J.) of Luling, LA; a brother, Arthur Dowler (Marge) of Watertown and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl T. Kesterson; two sons, Richard and Larry; five brothers, Clarence, Bernard, Lester, Richard and Harold Dowler; two sisters, Ruth Deem and Jean Acree and a granddaughter, Anne-Elizabeth Kesterson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at the Barlow Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home with Pastor Robin Swinsburg officiating.
