Ronald David Wood

Ronald David Michael Alan Wood, 90, of Lower Salem, died Thursday, August 1, 2024. He was born January 30, 1934, in Lorraine, Ohio to Earl R. and Lillian Haas Wood. Ron was a proud member in the U.S. Army, having served in Austria. He had worked at Eramet/Kardex, and retired in 1991.

Ron was a member of Soul’s Harbor Baptist Church. He had been involved in jail ministry for 18 years, having served most of those years in Noble County, and was an avid model train enthusiast.

He is survived by his wife, Joy Shreve Wood; children, Debra (Greg) Hunt, Sheri (John) Schneeberger, Ronald “Robbie” (Cindy) Wood, and Nate (Cindy) Wood; step children, Deb (Doug) Cain, Pam Craft, Lewis (Barb) Warner and Lana (Ronald) Ash; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Russell Wood, Ruth Maur, and Robin Sadler.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, August, 5, 2024, at the MARIETTA CHAPEL OF CAWLEY & PEOPLES FUNERAL HOME, with his son, Pastor Nate Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Twp Cemetery, with full military honors observed. Visitation will be for two hours prior to services on Monday at the funeral home.
