Rosalea Eleanor "Rosie" Knotts, 87, of Valdese, NC and formerly of Fleming, OH, died Friday, October 5, 2012, in Valdese. She was born November 23, 1924 in Doddridge County, WV to Earl and Ada Sutton Adams. She had worked for a cook at Warren High School for 23 years. Rosie had attended Warren Chapel Church and enjoyed bowling in Marietta and Parkersburg and square dancing. She is survived by two daughters, Janet Knotts of Valdese, NC and Sandra Boothby of Alvin, TX, eight grandchildren, Steven, David, and Phillip Murphy, Victor Thomas, Nicole Knotts, Zachary, Tyrel "T.J.", and Jeremy Boothby, several great grandchildren, three brothers, Earl Adams, Jr. (Avis) of Fleming, Elvon "Eddie" Adams (Janet) of Vincent and Earroll Adams (June) of Florida, half sister, Donna Patterson, half brothers, Bobby and Larry Adams, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Cecil Knotts, a son, Roy Cecil Knotts, Jr., and four brothers, Harold, Eugene, and Delmar Adams and Leroy Shepherd. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 12, 2012, at the Barlow Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with the Rev. Richard Thomas officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. and also for one hour prior to her service on Friday. Burial will be in Warren Chapel Cemetery.
