Ruth B. Pape, 92, of Sandhill Road, Marietta, died Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at Heartland of Marietta. She was born August 14, 1917 in Marietta to John and Nora Miller Haynes. Ruth was a graduate of Marietta High School. She had been a rural letter carrier and was past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of Ohio Rural Letter Carriers Association. She had attended Valley View Baptist Church and was a member of the Valley Farmers Club. Ruth had been a poll worker for many years and was an avid reader. She is survived by nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, Gordon Frank Pape, and a brother, Milton C. Haynes. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 12, 2009, at Valley Cemetery, with the Rev. Gale Lauderman officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home. Donations to Humane Society of the Ohio Valley, P.O.
