Sandra Lou "Sandy" Heinlein, 70, of Marietta, died Wednesday, April 10, 2013, in Marietta. She was born October 7, 1942 in Marietta to B. Brooks and Evelyn Verna Adams Nicholson. She was a graduate of Marietta High School. In her early years, Sandy had worked for Wilson Music Store on Putnam St., in later years, she worked as an employment counselor for Workforce West Virginia. She was a member of Putnam Congregational Church and enjoyed gospel sings. She loved sports, being a member of the Browns Backers and a Buckeye fan. She also loved to camp. Sandy is survived by her husband of 35 years, Robert Lee "Bob" Heinlein, four step children, Darla Boyd (Don) of Ft. Myers, FL, Phillip Heinlein (Della) of Parkersburg, WV, Bobby Heinlein (Connie) of Parkersburg, WV and Jerry Heinlein of Ft. Myers, FL, two brothers, Donald L. Nicholson (Ann) and Larry D. Nicholson (Naomi), both of Marietta, step grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Putnam Congregational Church on Friday, April 12, 2013, at 1:00 p.m., with the Rev. Barbara Jackson officiating. Friends may call for two hours prior to her service, at the church. Burial will be in Putnam Cemetery. Donations may be made to Putnam Congregational Church, 707 Masonic Park Road, Marietta, OH 45750. The Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home is assisting the family.
