Sara Ann Stephens

Sara Ann Stephens, 86, of Vincent, Ohio passed away March 23, 2024 at Marietta Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born October 15,1937 to the late H.L. ”Husky” and Beatrice (Meek) Worthington in Marietta, Ohio and lived her entire life on the family farm near Barlow.

Sara graduated from Vincent High School in the class of 1955.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Kenneth Stephens whom she married May 28,1955. The couple have two daughters, Teresa (Eugene) Huck of Marietta, Ohio and Gena (Bill) Eichmiller of Vincent, Ohio; five grandchildren, Christopher Huck of Akron Ohio, Lori Beth (Chris) Auldridge of Athol, Idaho, Kimberly (Bill) Peterman of Delaware, Ohio, Whitney Huck of Marietta, Ohio and Abby Eichmiller of Vincent, Ohio; and six great-grandchildren Amelia, Annalise, Alora and Avery Auldridge, and Grant and Evan Peterman.

She is preceded in death by her sister Harriett Lynn Worthington.

Sara was an expert seamstress and made many quilts and comforters. She also enjoyed basket making and painting. She spent a lot of summers on their John Deeres mowing the grass.

Kenny and Sara are members of Watertown Presbyterian Church.

Friends may call at the Barlow Chapel of Cawley and Peoples Funeral Homes on March 27, 2024 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at the Barlow Chapel of Cawley and Peoples on March 28, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. with The Reverand John Harra officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Williamstown W.Va.

The family would like to thank Dr Dennis and the palliative care unit as well as Hospice for all their care and compassion.
