Scott Steven Barta

Scott Steven Barta, 62, of Vincent, Ohio, husband of Michelle Barta and father to Brittany Barta and Austin Barta, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 26, 2024.

Born on March 3, 1962, the son of Janet Barta and the late Donald Barta.

Scott worked for American Municipal Power for more than 30 years as a mechanical engineer, running Belleville and Willow Island Hydroelectric, as well as several locations in Kentucky. He finished his career as the Assistant Vice President of Hydroelectric Operations. He was a very active member of the community. For several years he was involved in the Ohio Valley Soccer League, coaching youth soccer and baseball teams. Scott was also a member of the Scenic Hill Lions Club, and helped with the Barlow Fair each year.

Scott is survived by his sister, Dawn Heindricks (Dave), brother, Wayne Barta (Coleen) and sister, Amy Fortuna (Frank), and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Porterfield, Ohio, with The Rev. David Huffman celebrating. Burial will follow in Reed-Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the BARLOW CHAPEL OF CAWLEY & PEOPLES FUNERAL HOME.
