Sharon Sue Duskey, 64 of Lowell, Ohio passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg, West Virginia after a long battle with cancer.
Sharon was born September 27, 1945 in Marietta, Ohio to Cecil and Glenna Hanna. She spent the majority of her childhood living in Coal Run, Ohio. From 1965 to present she resided in Lowell, Ohio.
She was a 1963 graduate of Fort Frye High School in Beverly, Ohio.
On March 12, 1965 she wed Jack Earle Duskey. As a result of this union the couple had three children: Donna Diane Duskey , (Derek Brown) of Fleming, Ohio, Mark Lee Duskey of Lowell, Ohio, and Mary Jo Barth, (Harry) of Lowell, Ohio.
Upon high school graduation she was employed by both Selby and Marietta Memorial Hospitals as a switch board operator. She was also employed by McDonald's of Marietta and worked as a cafeteria assistant for Marietta City Schools. After that she was employed privately as companion and caregiver for an individual.
Sharon was a devout Christian with a strong belief in God. She attended Coal Run Church of Christ and various other churches throughout her life span. Sharon was also a member of TOPS International in Beverly, Ohio. Sharon's greatest joy was spending time with family and friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by: both parents, Cecil and Glenna Hanna, three brothers, Leslie Hanna, Glen Hughes, and Dale Hughes. Two sisters, Irene Tabor, and Patty Ball. She was also preceded in death by her husband of thirty-three years, Jack Earle Duskey.
She is survived by all three children: Donna, Mark and, Mary Jo. One Granddaughter, Dayna Maria McDougle of Lowell, Ohio. One brother, Howard Hanna , (Violet) of Zanesville, Ohio; two sister-in-laws: Chung Hanna and Yasuko Hughes; one brother-in-law: Emmett Ball; and a half brother, Thomas Hoff. Also surviving are several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was also survived by several close friends that she loved dearly: Nancy Henry, Joyce Shriver, Pat Liston and Carol Jones.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at the Lowell Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home. Burial will be in Waterford Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
