Shirley Ann Oliver, 81, of Marietta, Ohio, died Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Elmcroft of Marietta, formerly Brookdale. She was born on February 18, 1937, in Churchtown, Ohio, to Joseph and Mary Arnold Lang.
Shirley graduated from Lowell High School. She was owner and operator of Pine Ridge Meat Processing for 15 years, retiring in 1984. She previously worked at Broughton's Dairy, JC Penney and the Arbor's of Marietta. Over the years, Shirley was a member of St. Ambrose, The Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption and St. John's Catholic Church and was active in their Catholic Women's Clubs. Her commitment to her family, faith and care giving was what meant most to her.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Oliver, whom she married on July 14, 1984; seven children, Sherry Bentley (Don), Nicholas Stollar (Lori), Janelle Sprague (Douglas), Robbie Stollar (Sandy), Kay Eicher (Mark), Vince Stollar (Shelly) and Monty Stollar (Melissa); step children, Colleen Kreaps (Greg), Teresa Kote and Daniel Oliver (Hazel); grandchildren, Evan, Aundrea, Spencer, Abigail, Katie, Vanessa, Olivia, Ryan, Austin, Cassie, Chloe, Mariah, Marlee, Caroline, Zayda and Jaxon; step grandchildren, Megan and Ryan; great grandchildren, Luka and Everett; siblings, John "Jack" (Janet), Delbert Lang (Norma), Evelyn Neill and Robert Lang (Edna); sisters in law, Irene, Shirley, Alice and Martha Lang; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph E. Stollar, whom she married on October 26, 1957; and siblings, James, Joseph Jr., Glenn, Vincent, Harold "Hud", and Gerald Lang, Alice Schilling, and Grace Strahler.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Churchtown, with The Rev. Timothy Davison celebrating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with a Vigil service at 3:00 p.m.
