Sidney E. Carpenter

August 12, 1947 — October 3, 2011

In loving memory of our mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. Sidney Elieen Slack Carpenter went to be with her Lord that needed another angel. She was born August 12, 1947 to the late Okey and Nettie Seeley Slack. Sidney was married July 8, 1966, to the late Marvin Carpenter. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, doing puzzles and crosswords. Sidney is survived by three daughters, Mickie Water of Lowell, Teresa Bennett of Lowell and Norma Perine of Crawford, WV, nine grandchildren, Ezra and Briar of Lowell, Mark (Alisha) of Marietta, Charus (Kayla, and her son, Shade, and expecting January 6th, 2012) of Marietta, Kurtis of Lowell, Teya of Lowell, Joshua of Lowell, Casey of Lowell and Cheyenne of Nelsonville, a great granddaughter, Addyson L. Bennett, four sisters, Frances (Big Jimmy) Starlin of Lowell, Edna (Roger) Schau of Lowell, Kathy Maine of Marietta and Merna (Carl) Davis of Marietta, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert "Bobby" Carpenter, two brothers, Okey, Jr. and Frank Slack, and a sister, Tommy Jean Grayson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 7, 2011, at the Lowell Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home with Rob Tuttle officiating. Friends may call on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Lowell.
