Susan Diana Hawn

January 6, 1955 — March 24, 2014

Susan Diana Hawn passed away quietly with family at her side on March 24, 2014. She was 59 and is on her way to heaven; St. Peter better have his desk and files in order, if not he will soon. Susan was employed in the family business and served as Sec./Treasurer of the Biehl-Hawn Insurance Corp., playing an integral part of the behind the scenes work necessary to run a successful business. She was the office mom and wife and enjoyed her time there.

Susan was born in Garrett County, Maryland to Wayne D. and Winona Rinehart, of Marietta. She attended high school in Sidney, Ohio and was a graduate of Bowling Green State University. She was a teacher and librarian by education and taught for a few years. At BGSU, she met, and in 1977 married, Larry R. Hawn. Together they purchased Biehl Insurance Agency, soon after renaming it Biehl-Hawn Insurance.

Surviving are her husband, Larry, her parents, Wayne and Winona, her in-laws, Phillip and Evelyn Hawn of Marietta. She and Larry also have four children; Robert and wife Heather of Pemberville, Ohio, David and wife Vienny of Houston, Texas, Matthew and wife Dawn of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, and Michelle of Paducah, Kentucky. There are also four wonderful grandchildren who brought constant memories and stories to Susan.

Susan attended, with Larry, St. Mary Catholic Church and led a very thoughtful Christian life. She enjoyed working in her beautiful gardens and keeping things neat and orderly. She was a very kind and loving person who enjoyed seeing families together and happy.

In lieu of flowers please send monetary donations to The Boys and Girls Club of Washington Co., 307 Lancaster St., Suite 2, Marietta, OH 45750. They are a 501 C 3 organization . Visitation will be at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home on Thursday, March 27, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Private burial will take place at a later date.
